When Passion Meets Service Meets Community
MISSION: To make available, quality care, natural holistic and complimentary therapies for the betterment and well being of all persons, regardless of their socio economic background. All programs and services are available for both mainstream persons and persons with various abilities and /or particular needs. Community service and people have always been a very big part of my identity and passion so with this in mind, I created the STEP UP PROGRAM.
The goal of the step up program is to provide support, encouragement, empowerment, and services to a part of the population that otherwise would not have access to quality holistic and complimentary therapies, services, resources and care. This is a discreet service and program based on trust, integrity, respect and genuine care.
The program was introduced well over 20 years ago and was originally put in place to offer resources, guidance and support to vulnerable families, and protected refugees in my inclusive daycare and preschool.
Over the years, the outreach program that was conceived and started around my small kitchen table, evolved and expanded offering a wider array of services beyond the walls of our daycare and preschool. Various services were made available for families with mainstream children, and for families with children with various and particular educational and special needs.
The program continues to this very day through Marie Mady Holistic Therapies.
Special support programs, activities, classes and workshops are organized throughout the year for children, teens, parents, women and families, to help improve the quality of their lives.
They range anywhere from creative art workshops, to home economics classes, parenting classes, wellness classes, self regulation classes, mom and tot classes, empowerment classes, dance, yoga, and meditation classes, to circles, community picnics and more.
2% of my annual earnings from Marie Mady Holistic Therapies will go towards supporting food security, mental health, and women’s shelters through local organizations. Special fundraising events will be held yearly and also during World Reflexology Week to bring awareness to the plight of poverty, food security and mental illness. Challenges will be issued to other therapists in our communities to join in the fun and awareness campaign.
